Easter in the Mediterranean – April 2018

23rd April 2018

We were invited to visit Malta at the end of the Easter holidays.  The Wallrocks have some connections with Malta; Charlie’s nephew is married to a Maltese lady, his cousin has just over-wintered a classic motor yacht there, and, most importantly, his father, Lt. Cmdr. Michael Wallrock R.N.R. served on the Malta Convoys during the Second World War. So it was interesting to see the Grand Harbour, full of massive but restored battlements, houses, modern yachts and enormous cruise liners today, and trying to imagine it as it was during his months there.
