Royal Anniversaries

21st April 2022

The first quarter of this year has been full of poignant dates for the Royal Family, including the anniversary of the death of Prince Philip (9th April) and 20 years since the passing of both Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (30thMarch) and Princess Margaret (9 February).  Above is an image, from several newspapers, showing a gorgeous bronze of the Queen Mother (the third of a limited edition of twelve).  Charlie was also invited onto Solent radio to explain that this bronze, by Vivien Mallock, was the last portrait for which the Queen Mother sat, unfortunately, she did not live to see its completion. The original commission remains in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington and another is in the Goring Hotel where Her Majesty and Vivi used to meet (see the full story written by journalist Ed Baker in our monthly blog below).
