‘Tidings of Comfort and Joy’ – Wick Antiques December 2021

Tis the season to be jolly, heedless of the wind and weather’ so we will do just that. We will stop worrying about heavy snowfall in the North and other dismal headlines and focus this newsletter on good news. The very best news is that Charlie has just completed a brilliant, but protracted, negotiation to return the large Royal Dutch mirror, made by the great French master craftsman Majorelle, to its original home – Het Loo Palace. Standing 10 feet tall, this imposing piece was part of a suite of over 20 items especially commissioned in 1888.
