Wedding Silver – September 2024

As we approach the second Wallrock wedding in as many years, I have been reflecting on how wedding presents have changed.  Gifts can range from scented candles to scuba diving sessions on honeymoon, contributions to the wedding expenses or just plain money.  Silver rarely features, except perhaps for photograph frames which are treated to prevent them tarnishing.  For many centuries owning silver was a sure sign of status and wealth.
