Footnote: This tray commemorates the marriage of Admiral Thomas Le Marchant Gosselin (1765 – 1857) of Bengeo Hall, Hertfordshire and Sarah Hadsley in 1809. The Admiral saw service against the Franco-Spanish fleet off Plymouth in 1778, where he was captured and became a prisoner of war.
