A rare pair of early Edo period Imari vases and covers, decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red and gilt with a continuous landscape showing ladies on a blossom viewing expedition with baskets of flowers and flags walking over a bridge amongst kiku flowers and below trailing branches of blossom, the shoulders and covers decorated with lobed panels of flowers on alternate white and blue grounds. Japanese, early 18th century.
