The central lobed panels inlaid with tortoiseshell, stained bone and three colours of mother-of-pearl, one showing an abundance of delicate flowering branches arranged in Genji’s carriage on a gold lacquer ground, the other with a hanging flower arrangement in a basket, all within a filigree rim applied with polychrome enamel flowerheads, the reverse in nashiji with four small filigree feet.
