An unusual Regency kingwood centre table with a triform based raised on ebonized gadrooned feet.
Provenance: The use of Kingwood and other exotic timbers such as Satinwood, tulip wood and Palm were used widely in the Regency period to show there wealth. These timbers were very exspencive and highly prized. Kingwood was used as a cross banding and was rarely used to cover a larger surface, the reason for this was that it not a large tree and therefore could not offer large balks of timber such as Mahohany which were cut into large boards of timber.
