An unusual pair of frosted glass wine coolers, attributed to Collis & Co each of these unusual wine coolers comprises a shaped cylindrical glass body and pedestal foot set with silver plated mounts. The decoration consists of chased and repousse vines and fruits with gadrooned rims.
These wine coolers are very similar to a group of coolers in the collections of the Duke of Devonshire, currently on display in the state dining room at Chatsworth, Derbyshire. They are also comparable to a blue glass and gilt set supplied to Prince Callimachi, the Turkish Ambassador to France by Collis and Co in 1849.
