A large Meiji period bronze vase on stand, of globular form decorated with a continuous frieze of carp swimming in swirls of water, with gold-inlaid eyes, the base with four wave and spray legs on a shaped base with further raised ripples, signed with a seal on the bowl “Dai Nippon Kano Seiun chu”. Japanese, c1880.
