The Royal Caroline in a glass and mahogany case on stand. The Royal Caroline was a ship-rigged royal yacht which was designed by Joshua Allin and built in the Deptford Dockyard, England in 1749. The ship is best remembered for transporting Duchess Charlotte of Mecklenburg Strelitz to marry King George III. The ship was renamed Royal Charlotte for the occasion.
